In my PhD project at the University of the Basque Country I studied how human-induced environmental changes affect wood-inhabiting fungal diversity and assembly processes at different spatial scales. During my postdoc in the Norwegian University of Science and Technology, I took part into the development of statistical methods, in particular joint species distribution models. Postdoctoral project of Academy of Finland at the University of Helsinki focused on understanding how interspecific interactions change and determine community structure under environmentally stressful conditions, using root-associated fungi as a model system. Starting from September 2021, I work as an Academy Research Fellow at the University of Jyväskylä. My research focuses on community ecology, on understanding what ecological and evolutionary processes create variation in species-rich communities.
