Arrival at Sofia airport
There is public transportation service from the airport to the city center. There are bus stations (Terminal 1 and 2) and metro station (only from Terminal 2) you can use. Depending on where you stay in Sofia you can plan your routes on the website of the public transportation service here.

IMPORTANT! You need to validate your pass every time you use the public transport. Different ticketing options apply. The standard ticket (30 plus; 1.60 BGN) allows you to make as much transfers as needed within 30 minutes after the first validation of your pass. The same is valid for the 60 plus ticket (2.20 BGN), but for 60 minutes after the first validation.

In case you want to use the prepaid service or buy a ticket for 72 hours you would need to purchase Ultralight paper card from ticketing offices or metro ticket offices.

Please consider that your visa or mastercard can serve as your ticket pass, but you need always to use one media (physical card, phone, tablet or smartwatch) when validating your pass. In the case of trips made with more than two 30 plus tickets within the day, paid with the same bank card, a daily card is automatically aggregated for all lines at a price of BGN 4,00. The vehicles’ validators read on each media as a separate bank card and to aggregate your trips into a daily pass at the amount of BGN 4,00, you need to choose one media and validate only with it during the day.

Look for the Yellow! cars at the main taxi ranks at the airport or request the service at the offices of Yellow! in the Arrivals of Terminal 1 and Terminal 2.
