We are pleased to introduce our four keynote speakers, who will bring valuable insights to the conference.
Per-Ola Hedwall | |||
Associate Professor Per-Ola Hedwall is a plant ecologist specialized in global change effects on forest vegetation. His research involves scales from the individual leaf to continental vegetation patterns across the temperate and boreal biomes. He is especially interested in illuminating potential interactions of different drivers of vegetation change, and their effects on ecosystem functions and services. | |||
Mikko Kurttila | |||
Principal Scientist Mikko Kurttila is the director of Luke’s thematic research programme “Profitable and responsible primary production” at the Natural resources Institute Finland. His research portfolio includes multi-criteria decision support methods and tools, multiobjective use of forests, and NTFP related studies |

Bjørn Egil Flø | |||
Bjørn Egil Flø has a Ph.D. in rural sociology is currently a senior researcher at NIBIO. He researches the urban-rural continuum, rural policy, and the use and management of outfields. |

Jasmiina Vilpponen | |||
Jasmiina Vilpponen, Co-Founder of Bär Bar With academic backgrounds in both law and economics, Jasmiina Vilpponen is the co-founder of Bär Bar, a Finnish smoothie and sandwich bar concept built around the power of Nordic berries. Since 2018, she has worked to make Finnish wild berries trendy and to elevate their value through modern, accessible products. Her mission is to turn Finnish forest berries into the world’s leading superfood. |
