Are you conducting research that somehow fits into the broader framework of planetary youth research? Would you like to discuss your research or test a workshop related to youth and the sustainability transition?

The Planetary Youth Research Network is organizing a two-day seminar, which provides an opportunity to discuss topics, data and approaches related to the broad framework of planetary youth research (see  Planetary Youth Research - Youth Research for more information) in a multidisciplinary setting, present working papers or try out a workshop (or other demo). Scientists from different fields, students, civic activists, youth professionals and artists (self-reliance is also an art!) are welcome to attend the meeting.

The Planetary Youth Research Network has been launched in 2023. Anyone interested in the topic is welcome to join, but you are welcome to this network meeting even if you do not want to join the network yourself. The seminar will be held over two days, March 17-18, from 9 am to 4 pm, and you can also participate in part of the program remotely.

You can use the form to suggest a presentation, pilot, workshop or other activity for the days.

Please also tell us how long you would like the seminar to last. The language of the seminar is primarily Finnish, but part of the seminar can also be organized in English.

Suggest program content for the seminar

Those interested in providing program content are asked to register using the form on this page by February 16, 2025. When registering, please mention at least the following: topic of the program content, title, desired total time, and the environment in which you would like the program to take place (classroom, indoor space without tables, outdoor space, etc.).

The texts to be discussed in the seminar (max. 5 pages) must be sent to the organizer by email (contact information above) by March 12, 2025, after which they will be sent by email to all those who have registered for the seminar. The text can be, for example, part of a thesis, part of an article manuscript, a research plan, a data analysis or part of another manuscript. In this respect, the seminar work is based on the comments on the manuscripts sent in advance, and the author does not need to prepare a presentation longer than a short presentation.

Registration for non-program content providers

All participants interested in planetary youth research are welcome to attend. At this stage, we are looking for program content for the seminar. If you only want to attend as a participant, you can still register now by filling in the required fields of the form at the bottom of the page. Registration for participants ends on March 12, 2025.
