The Ceremonial Conferment of all faculties at the University of Turku will be held on 15-16 May 2025. To participate in the Ceremonial Conferment 2025 your doctoral degree must have been accepted before 20 January 2025.
In case you will register only for the Conferment Ceremony and the rehearsal (15 May) the registration fee is 60 eur. In case you will register also for the other events (The Sword Sharpening Ceremony, The Ceremonial Conferment Banquet) the Conferment Ceremony is free of charge.
The side events
- Thursday, 15 May: The Sword Sharpening Ceremony (85 eur/person)
- Friday, 16 May: The Service or The Secular Service (free of charge)
- Friday, 16 May: The Ceremonial Conferment Banquet (170 eur/person)
You do not have to attend all of the events. Only the main event, the Conferment Ceremony, its rehearsal and the academic procession are mandatory. You can choose whether to participate in the whole
programme with side events, only part of the side events or just the Conferment Ceremony, its rehearsal and the academic procession. Registration for the side events on the next page.
The registration is binding. Places are limited and will be filled in the order of registration. The registration will close at the latest on 20 January 2025.
